Getting the most out of your treatment starts before you even arrive — and continues for a day or two after you leave. A little preparation and the right aftercare can make a noticeable difference in your results. Here's everything you need to know.
Before Your Session
Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of water in the hours before your session. Hydration supports lymphatic circulation and helps your body process what gets stimulated during massage and facial work. It makes a real difference in how you feel — and how your skin responds.
Arrive with clean skin (or light makeup)
If you're booked for a facial, arriving without heavy makeup means Kaylee can get started right away. If you're coming straight from work, don't worry — cleansing is always part of the facial process. For body massage, comfortable clothing you can easily change out of is all you need.
Eat lightly beforehand
A heavy meal right before a body massage can feel uncomfortable when you're lying face-down. A light snack is completely fine — just avoid a full meal within an hour of your appointment.
Skip alcohol the night before
Alcohol dehydrates the body and makes the skin more reactive. Try to avoid it the evening before, especially before a facial treatment. Your skin will absorb products better and respond more smoothly to the techniques.
Arrive a few minutes early
Arriving a little before your scheduled time gives you a chance to settle in, fill out any intake information, and begin unwinding before the session starts. A relaxed start leads to a better session.
During Your Session
Communicate
If the pressure feels too intense — or not enough — say so. Kaylee adjusts to your comfort, and the session is always more effective when you're able to fully relax into it. There's no "correct" amount of pressure to tolerate.
Breathe
Especially during K-contour or deeper body work. Long, slow exhales help facial and body muscles release more easily — and make firmer pressure feel significantly more comfortable. If you notice yourself holding your breath, that's a cue to exhale slowly and let go.
After Your Session
Drink plenty of water
The single most important aftercare step. Massage — especially lymphatic work — moves fluids through the body. Staying hydrated in the hours after your session helps flush what's been released and keeps you feeling good rather than sluggish.
Don't touch your face (after a facial)
Your skin is cleansed, treated, and more absorbent than usual after a facial. Touching it with your hands can introduce bacteria and undo some of the benefit. Keep hands away for the rest of the day.
Take it easy for a few hours (after body massage)
Your muscles are relaxed and your circulation is elevated. Light walking is great — save intense exercise for the next day to give your body time to process the treatment fully.
Be gentle with your skincare
Avoid strong active ingredients — retinol, AHAs, BHAs — for 24 hours after a facial. Stick to gentle, hydrating products and let your skin settle. It's in a receptive state and doesn't need more stimulation right now.
Results develop over time. You'll often notice an immediate change — a glow, reduced puffiness, more defined features. Then, over the following 24–48 hours, as your body continues to process the treatment, results can deepen further. Don't judge your final outcome until the next day.
